Thanks to my questionable decisions last night, I overslept and missed Soup Sunday, which I had been looking forward to for a few days. Dang it.

The whole day wasn’t a bust, though. I spent the evening in great company, watching the Oscars and laughing my ass off. Am I just some kind of commie, homo-loving son of a gun or was the show particularly funny this year?

You’ll remember Nick from his multiple appearances in this documentary about the unfortunately nicknamed Dyersburg “Tranny Nanny.” He also has a brief but no doubt industry-shaking appearance in the Billy Graham movie you might not have seen unless you hang out at church on Friday nights.

Don’t be surprised in 2012 when Nick has the entire news/media world conquered, because it’s going to happen. And then, when he is the King of All News and Media, he is going to kern the shit out of your horrible-looking Helvetica headlines. You hear me, world?!

… and by “bed” I mean “to my shitty old Dell where Roller Coaster Tycoon awaits!”

My two latest Netflix acquisitions have not quite piqued my interest in any substantial way, so I’m letting them collect dust while I’ve pawed my way through my VHS cabinet and begun working my way through tapes of MST3K episodes recorded off the Sci-Fi Channel roughly ten years ago. These tapes — there are a couple dozen of them — are in bad shape. The sound is so bad that you have to turn it way up and then endure the high-pitched whining. And yet, it’s worth it. There is not a funnier show than this show. Period.

I can’t for the life of me find my Agent for H.A.R.M. tape, which might be my favorite episode. But my favorite tape contains Devil Doll, Riding With Death, and Space Mutiny. The awesomeness of RwD and SM on one tape has very nearly made my VCR explode.

Anyway, here’s this:

I want to keep this kid as a pet.

Because Jon Stewart would help me feel not so insane.
