it's true — I'm crazy relationships

I like to think

… that every time someone hurts me, I get to put a little karma coin in the bank, which I can cash out later to go on an emotional holiday.

That makes no sense but it’s the only fucking thing that keeps me in the game sometimes.

  1. that’s a nice way to look at it. every time it happens to me i prefer to think it’s putting me one step closer to being indestructible. “after all,” i always end up thinking, “if i can survive THAT…” i must be, right?

i’ll get there. so will you.

  2. Oh, I WISH karma worked that way. The way it really works is that you give us the names, addresses, email, and bank routing numbers of the people that hurt you, and we forward them to the Karma Squad to extract balance from the Universe.

  3. I will tell you that it all really does circle back around both good and bad when you least expect it. Karma doesn’t run on anyone’s schedule but its own and over time you do see it. That’s one of my Dad’s strongest beliefs even if he doesn’t phrase it that way.

It’s the strength to shrug off something really bad and handle the everyday stuff without even thinking twice.

  4. You have to do something to prevent people to hurt you.
    Nothing works better than that.
(Nothing works at all, except that).
You will never be undestructible, but you can learn to avoid pain. You can learn to avoid other people’s words, for example…
