A new name for an old pursuit

New beginnings, I guess. I’m trying. Theogeo Design & Photography was a cumbersome name so now it’s Eyedot Creative. Here’s an explanation. The Twitter‘ and Facebook changed, too, and did you know I have a Tumblr?

Shopkeeping

Friends, you may have noticed a newish link up top to a new blog of mine — one dedicated to the growing Etsy shop I talk about every now and again. So feel free to head over there and add it to your feed reader or daily rounds or however you like to surf these webs. I’ll be posting updates about what’s going in the shop, and hopefully posting some on my creative process and…

Tending shop

Last week I applied for and secured a booth at Cooper-Young Festival, where I hope to sell photo prints (framed and un-) and stationery, as well as take orders for custom designs should people be interested in that sort of thing. I’ve also got some other artsy crapola knocking around in my head that I hope to be able to hammer out between now and then. I’ve never done a festival before so trying to…

Some new things in the Etsy shop

I’m trying my hand at stationery design because boy do I love stationery (despite the fact that I hardly ever write anything by hand anymore and when I do, it looks like a stroke patient transcribed what I was saying … mid-stroke). Here are three folded-card designs I put in the shop today. Click the pic to be taken to the listing.

Shop news, because I live to spam you

The thing with becoming a part-time hawker-of-all-the-shit-I-make that I have a hard time doing is the self-promotion. I really hate talking up my stuff. I feel like I’m intruding. Like people get annoyed by the constant reminders of my existence. This is the precisely the reason why I have such reservations about ever pursuing a career in advertising or promotions or marketing. I don’t want to be a nuisance. Except … I totally want people…

New stuff in the shop

My apologies to those of you who have seen this on the Tweet-o-sphere and the Facebooktubes already, but I’m trying to reach eyeballs. Lots and lots of eyeballs. The thing is this: I am selling holiday cards made from my photos in the Etsy shop. One features this bird print and the other features this snowy branch print (both of which are also for sale in several sizes). Fun fact about these cards: If…

Crafty concerns

I was so excited to start making and selling magnets made from my photos, until I did a couple of test batches and realized that the glass marbles I bought have lots of bubbles in them. I’m thinking people will see the finished product and think the bubbles are something I neglected to fix when gluing. So now it’s back to square one. I bought some larger marbles that are a nice, substantial size, but…

Just call me ‘shopkeep’

Finally, after wanting to do so for a long time and just never really being able to pull the trigger on it, I’ve opened an Etsy shop. Right now there are photo prints available as well as one framed collage-type item, but I’m busting ass to add more things that, hopefully, people will want to buy. Eventually I want to add customizable stationery designs, but that’s going to take some time since the few designs…
