A stroll through City Cemetery

I didn’t plan to end up in a cemetery yesterday, but I did. I had the day off work and after an indulgent morning spent lounging in bed, watching TV, I got the itch to go somewhere and take photos. And, after driving around for a little while, City Cemetery is where I ended up. The City Cemetery is Nashville’s oldest continuously operated public cemetery. So much history and so many prominent Nashvillians rest there.…

That was the last time we let the children finish the eggnog

I remember that peach jogging suit. I was 10 or 11. I was doing the tango with puberty. It was an ugly, lumpy time. I have been up all night scanning old photos with the new fancy scanner that doesn’t even need me to draw boundaries around photos before saving them. IT JUST KNOWSSS!!! Technology is the best. A metric crapload of what I uploaded tonight got transfered to Flickr and Facebook; blame the booze…

The thing is quite yellowed and brittle, and has a tendency to shed bits of itself as you flip carefully from page to page.
