Day 335: Comet
Another fabulous Shane McDermott papercraft project. This one’s in conjunction with the annual advent calendar. I’ll post a link to the online version as soon as it goes live. The calendar is here! [Project 365]

Oh, it’s funny now. But we are in the pre-explosive diaper phase of babydom. And I really have to link to a picture of Courtney’s unbelievable shower cake, made by Rebecca as a tribute to Cake Wrecks, a blog Courtney likes very much. This thing was magnificently funny, replete with ridiculous sayings scrawled all over it, and carrot jockeys. Oh, and it was yummy, too. [Project 365]
But — and don’t tell anyone — he’s not really all that terrible at all. [Project 365]
Because he knows my penchant for things that are both awesome and absurd, Sir Sig hooked me up with this for a housewarming gift. The first night I had it? I donned it, ate a bag of popcorn, and fell asleep on the couch — draped in cats — while watching MST3K. I’m gonna go ahead and score that one a big win. [Project 365]
These little beauties were waiting on me when I got home from work. +10 brownie points for the sender. [Project 365]
I was so busy actually moving that I didn’t really take any pictures of the actual move in progress. I’m so grateful to Evan and Shane and Ashley for helping me, though. There is no way in hell I could have gotten it done without them. Moving the cats to a new place has been the most hilarious and annoying thing ever. As soon as I let them out of their carriers at the new…
Felt good enough to spend some time at the house, unpacking boxes of books and knick-knacks, running ratty paper towels over dusty panes, measuring windows and walls to get an idea of what stuff will be able to fit where, and making notes in neat cursive on old notebook paper. Gave two tours of the house and even got a bottle of wine hand delivered to me by Mr. Fancycwabs, Professional Educator, himself. So far…
I work with ladies who can do some amazing things in the kitchen. This time Rebecca fooled everyone into thinking she’d bought these little donuts. Nope. She baked them. [Project 365]
Buying a house has been the most harrowing, confusing, frustrating, hard-fought, demoralizing, exhilarating, nerve-wracking, crazymaking experience of my life. My loan officer — for whom who I have Kerry V to thank — called my purchase a miracle, and said she’d “given birth to a Turner loan,” which only came to fruition less than 24 hours before the actual deadline to close. For some completely masochistic reason ($8,000 in sweet Obamabucks!), I chose to buy…
Stephanie had some fun in the kitchen, which usually ends up benefiting the office. I chose the cyclops, for reasons I will not get into here. [Project 365]
