Day 75: Retail Therapy
Spent the day taking my mind of Felix. Bought a dress and these shoes for an upcoming wedding. Are horrible/delicious Chinese buffet food. Saw Watchmen. Consumed, consumed, consumed. Felt a little better. [Project 365]

I knew I was going to have to write this post eventually, and for many months now, I knew the time was creeping closer and closer. I just didn’t know how close. And then Sunday things just sort of fell apart and difficult decisions had to be made and here we are. Felix battled his insulinoma like a trooper, but you can only fight your body so long. And Sunday, after so many seizures and…
We didn’t intend to trash Ashley/Will/Semelea/Justin’s house when we went over there for food and fellowship, but we are a whirling dervish of crazy and we leave a path of destruction everywhere we go. Also, we will spend a substantial amount of time making out with your sweet little dog and possibly breaking his heart. You’ve been warned. [Project 365]
I don’t know how I managed to go my entire tenure in Memphis without eating at La Guadalupana on Summer, but I remedied that Friday at MadMolecule‘s suggestion. I really, really hope he doesn’t mind me quoting him, but his description of the place is spot-on: “Fresh, handmade, delicious Mexican food with all the charm and ambience of a laundromat?” And it’s true — it was awesome. I had the cheese enchiladas in that ridiculous(ly…
Not a great day today. My brain’s a rubber band and it’s about to snap. [Project 365]
If I have but one talent, it is running decent things into the ground until every drop of goodness have been squeezed out of them. It’s a talent and I’ve always had it and I don’t suspect I’ll ever really get tired of flexing it. If brobelfish.com doesn’t get up and running soon, I’m not sure what I’ll do with myself. I spent the day near windows, feeling the breeze and contemplating every molecule of…
Nick, Kristin, and JR came into town for a visit over the weekend. We had drinks at Ernestine & Hazel’s (sadly, there was a private party going on, so we got stuck in the restaurant part and couldn’t go hang around the bathtub upstairs) and then went back to my place for Summer Brew and silliness with some local yokels that left me and some others with weird inexplicable bruises and scrapes and pains the…
I got out of the office tonight for dinner at just the right time. The sun was setting and the sky was heavy with blue. People were out and about, letting the warm air hit their skin. I love this time of year right at the birth of spring, and I don’t know if I’ll ever get tired of saying it. [Project 365]
