[Voodoo, Memphis style]

It’s official — the VooDoo Music Experience will be here. Still no word on how this officially affects the lineup. Nine Inch Nails is the only confirmed act so far. I’m inclined to think that there won’t be many bands backing out since it’s going to be a Katrina benefit. The organizers more or less have said the same thing, even implying that the lineup could grow.

[Yeah, so about those rants]

I don’t have the energy tonight. Maybe it’ll come back tomorrow. After a news night with a near-plane crash, another hurricane, and a tornado, I’m a little too distracted to talk about porn and raunch. Crazy, I know! Plus tonight I’ve been working on making new flags for Cox and Amber. So that’s keeping me busy for the moment. And I’m planning a redesign (yet again) of this here little chunk o’ web. And in…

[Farewell, little post that could]

I started working yesterday on a long, thoughtful post about the mainstreaming of sex raunch and the rise of women participating in it. I had it saved as a Gmail draft so I wouldn’t lose it in case Blogger went beserk as it sometimes does. I put the finishing touches on it just now, and highlighted the entire thing to copy and paste it into this Blogger window. Then I accidentally pressed ctrl+v instead of…

[Time on me is wasted time]

This weekend has been pretty low-key. Fall is creeping. The pools are closed and now I’m suddenly paler than a Victorian virgin. Once upon a time, I could sustain a tan. Now, not so much. Well, all the better for me not to get cancer, I guess. Yesterday Phil and I went to K-Mart to see what was left. All the K-Marts in town are closing, and yesterday was their last day open, when most…

[Right back atcha, big guy]

Hee. Salon‘s Photoshop wizards never fail to crack me up. The story is about Bush’s speech in a pulpit Friday about the arbitrary harm done to man by nature. The graphic is the best part of the piece, in my opinion; I don’t begrudge Bush the right to pontificate about the random violence of weather (God). We went to the Cooper-Young Festival and milled around for bit among the crowd. Lots of hipsters pushing baby…

[Well, fuck a duck]

Yes. Gay couples getting married is just like inter-species marriage, Bill O’Reilly, you continuous font of misinformed, inflammatory tripe, bad writing, and toxic punditry. O’REILLY: The secular progressive movement would like to have marriage abolished, in my opinion. They don’t want it, because it is not diverse enough. You know, that’s what this gay marriage thing is all about. But now, you know, the poly-amorphous marriage, whatever they call it, you can marry 18 people,…

[Quark is pushing it]

I haven’t used Quark XPress since my demo copy expired earlier this year. I miss it, but I can’t say that I miss Quark, since I’m in love with the design program we use at work. Plus I’m continuing my transition to all things Adobe. And Quark really hasn’t done a good job of making their product competitive in the design market. So it doesn’t exactly pain me to show you this. I wonder if…
