I don’t know how I managed to go my entire tenure in Memphis without eating at La Guadalupana on Summer, but I remedied that Friday at MadMolecule‘s suggestion. I really, really hope he doesn’t mind me quoting him, but his description of the place is spot-on: “Fresh, handmade, delicious Mexican food with all the charm and ambience of a laundromat?” And it’s true — it was awesome.
I had the cheese enchiladas in that ridiculous(ly awesome) green sauce, and he had the super-dooper nachos with chicken beans (yeah, really, or so said the incredibly deep menu, which also included goat tacos and cornish hen burritos or something amazing like that) and I got to leave the place with that sweet-ass comic panel you see up there, which MM won from the internet in a battle of wit.
Man, I love that place. I usually get the chicken flautas, and oh, did you notice? It’s BYOB!
Glad you liked it! That’s becoming my favorite place to eat in town. In fact, I think I’m gonna have to have some more of those nachos. Stat.
