There are lots of creative things on my plate that I’m working through. Suddenly all these feelings of foreboding and inadequacy that I struggled with in college are coming flooding back. Deadlines and the thought of being judged by peers and superiors.
It sucks. I wish I could say I thrive on that kind of thing, but not when it comes to areas where I feel like I need a lot of work.
But … but … but …
Lindsey. You rule. You shine. You rawk.
Always remember and don’t ever forget that.
Go look in the recycle bin, where all our work winds up, and appreciate it again. Indeed, if you have to, do what Rick Bragg says we do all the time: take it over to a colleague and say, “Seriously, now, tell me: Is this too much?” They will tell you, honestly and kindly, that you rock and that it’s just fine, except maybe you want to rethink that magenta hairline tool line. But no, it looks good with the art hed.
If they don’t say something like that, walk away regally and pity them, for they are clueless and uncultured. And have no sense.
