Sunday I slept and slept and woke and read and slept and put a pot of coffee on and stretched out in bed and smelled the coffee from across the house and drank the coffee and talked on the phone. I met up with the ladies<\/a>. Had a big fat salad with fried things on it, and water. <\/p>\n

Monday I got up early and visited Ashley and Luke and Lilly and brought late Christmas and shower gifts with me. I held the baby and the baby smelled good but decided she wasn’t quite ready to commit to half an hour in my arms, so back to mommy she went, but eventually she was passed back to me while conked out and she snored in my lap (and ran a motorboat in her pants). I played on the Wii and let Luke run in circles around me while Ashley fed Lilly. I was named railroad engineer and reconstructed Luke’s wooden train set to give him a full circuit that ran over a bridge and under a mountain, which he thanked me for no less than ten times, with some hugs sprinkled in there too. I hated to leave but I had made plans to cook and I was in the mood to create something strictly for consumption. <\/p>\n

I made this and although and I am somewhat a culinary three-trick pony, it was delicious and I have leftovers. <\/p>\n

Then it was the Hi-Tone and Midlake<\/a> and dancing with Dave<\/a> and waving at Jen<\/a> and seeing an old old friend from high school whom I hadn’t seen since graduation ten years ago. Walking back to the car in the cold. Home, tired, now.<\/p>\n
