My mom told me yesterday that she’s been approved for a student loan to go to Houston this summer and take an eight-day course to get certified as an independent legal nurse consultant. This would allow her to be a freelancer of sorts, able to be contracted by corporations, companies, individuals, etc., to give expert medical opinion. The pay is good and you work for yourself. She’s really excited. There could be some court testifying involved. She loves CourtTV, so that ought to work out well.<\/p>\n

I’m excited for her. She went back to college in her early 30s to become an RN. And has since worked at a hospital, in home health, as a nursing home director, and now as an arm-pricker for Lifeline bloodmobile. For the past several years, she’s been searching for something she would really like. It’s the most excited about an opportunity that I’ve seen her in a long time, so I hope everything works out beautifully.<\/p>\n
