Megan<\/a> who, several weeks ago, said that my photos of the yard remind her of some magical wonderland (I’m paraphrasing, unless that’s her direct quote). Which is so funny to me because I totally shoot macros of blooms for that specific effect (and to pretend like the areas of the yard that are flower-free don’t exist). But then today I was out transferring some snapdragons to the front bed and I saw something glinting in the sunlight. I figured it was debris from the road — all kinds of weird shit pops up in that bed thanks to its pavement proximity — so I sort of poked at it. It gave way and I realized it was soft and not plastic or metal. And then I realized, holy hell, there is a gold mushroom in my yard. <\/p>\nI’ve been doing some Googling to see if I can find a picture of another mushroom like it, but I’m not coming up with anything. The fine folks on Twitter seem to agree that if I eat it, I will grow tall and potentially spit fireballs. So, sigh, I will not be eating it (I don’t care for mushrooms anyway), but I am going to let it sit and continue to grow, or whatever mushrooms do, because I’m convinced it has to be at least partly<\/i> magical.
