Or the weekend. So here goes.<\/p>\n<p>Shit I need to do by Tuesday:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Get the oil in my car changed <\/li>\n<li>Make a dentist appointment for a check-up <\/li>\n<li>Make a gyno appointment to have this raging blister checked out <\/li>\n<li>Make sure everyone knows that last one was a joke <\/li>\n<li>Well, half of it was a joke <\/li>\n<li>Let people guess which half <\/li>\n<li>Stop getting sidetracked by making stupid jokes <\/li>\n<li>Finish making my sister a DVD of her wedding photos<\/li>\n<li>Write FOX a letter condemning their decision to <a href=\"http:\/\/today.reuters.com\/News\/newsArticle.aspx?type=entertainmentNews&amp;storyID=2005-11-11T230300Z_01_ROB182934_RTRUKOC_0_US-LEISURE-ARRESTED.xml\" target=\"_blank\">cancel &#8220;Arrested Development&#8221;<\/a> and encourage people to visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saveourbluths.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Save Our Bluths<\/a> <\/li>\n<li>Clean out the coat closet so giant roaches will stop living in it <\/li>\n<li>Buy white acrylic paint, various canvasses, and some decoupage materials for a snazzy gift I plan to make for one of my pals <\/li>\n<li>Actually start working on all the homemade gifts I&#8217;m planning for those few (un)lucky friends and relatives destined to receive them <\/li>\n<li>Mail out new and improved letter to Bob Glenn, requesting that Sidelines&#8217; new adviser not be a meddling monster with a say over who gets to be editor next<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shit I want to do in the next five years: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master html editing <\/li>\n<li>Visit Italy<\/li>\n<li>Visit the West Coast <\/li>\n<li>Take a digital photography class <\/li>\n<li>Get three short stories or poems published by respected magazines or anthologies <\/li>\n<li>Go back to school to work toward either master&#8217;s degree or secondary bachelor&#8217;s in something unrelated to journalism <\/li>\n<li>Start contributing to my 401(k) <\/li>\n<li>Learn how to cook <\/li>\n<li>Make Adobe CS2 &#8212; <i>all of it<\/i> &#8212; my bitch &#8230; just in time for CS 3, 4, and 5 <\/li>\n<li>Pursue some community volunteer opportunities <\/li>\n<li>Finish my &#8220;novel&#8221; and shop it around <\/li>\n<li>Start and finish that other &#8220;novel&#8221; I&#8217;ve got knocking around in my head <\/li>\n<li>Celebrate the end of George W. Bush&#8217;s presidency like it&#8217;s 1999 <\/li>\n<li>Paint my dad a battlefield landscape he&#8217;d be proud of and I wouldn&#8217;t be ashamed to show to people <\/li>\n<li>Make a major investment, like buy a car or house <\/li>\n<li>Buy a house only if I feel like I&#8217;ve found a city to call home <\/li>\n<li>Make some fucking friends wherever I happen to be living<\/li>\n<li>Make a 10-year plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Like any good list, this one is bound to be changed, ignored, etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It occurs to me that if I don&#8217;t start making plans and aggressively pursuing them, I&#8217;m not going to get anything done for the rest of my life.
