Remember the kid whose bike \u2014 adorned with a This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb<\/a> sticker \u2014 was destroyed by a bomb squad at Ohio University? He’s going to get a sweet new model<\/a>.<\/p>\n

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) \u2014 Ohio University will reimburse a student for a bicycle that was destroyed after officials mistakenly believed a sticker with the name of a Florida punk band was a bomb threat.<\/p>\n

The band’s name is This Bike is a Pipe Bomb.<\/p>\n

A university attorney says the replacement cost of the seven-year-old touring bike is between $800 and $1,300.<\/p>\n

The sticker on Patrick Hanlin’s bike led authorities in early March to shut down four campus buildings.<\/p>\n

The bomb experts destroyed the bike to find no bomb inside.<\/p>\n

A charge of inducing panic had been filed against Hanlin, who is from Three Rivers, Michigan, but it was later dropped.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This story just reminds me of the time<\/a> someone on an American Airlines flight found a crumpled napkin with “bomb bomb bomb … meet the parents” written on it and the damn plane turned around and returned to the airport where it was searched by a bomb squad.<\/p>\n
