One of the very best things about fall in the South is that it’s when the cotton fields really start to shine.
I haven’t made the trek to my parents’ house much these past few months, but the journey always takes me past some of the most beautiful fields — like the one pictured here — along Highway 64. It’s one of my favorite places to stop and photograph when I can.
There’s something about that bright blue sky and those specks of white expanding over the horizon that just sings.
