Day 169 — Bridge
Project 365
1. I picked a bodacious scab off my foot just now, much to my relief. I’ve been picking at that thing for weeks and it hadn’t budged. And now that it’s gone, it doesn’t hurt nearly as much when I walk. Score! 2. Tampax Pearl tampons are shockingly awesome, despite their not-so-environmentally-friendly nature. 3. About 95 percent of the calories I consumed today were derived from French Onion dip.
Ladies and germs, I present to you my first lolcat, starring my unnamed kitten (right) and her* sister, whom I may end up adopting as well. Ha haaaa. And here’s an alternate version with double-joke goodness. *Yes, that’s right. Apparently this orange kitty is a rare female. But I can’t tell from looking at her junk; I’m taking everyone else’s word for it, despite the conventional wisdom that orange tabbies are usually male.
All my life, this man has driven me to do better, think bigger, aim higher. He has taken every opportunity possible to prove that he has my back, whatever the situation. When a spark of talent has emerged in me, he has stepped up to fan the flame. He’s an amazing person, who may or may not want you to know that he sometimes gets emotional when he says grace. People tell me I look…
It’s hard to understand just how something like this could happen, but once it does, you start wondering about the obvious stuff, like why do people line up on the street to watch a high-powered car kick up dust and take off like a slingshot into the distance? It’s such a senseless thing, really. Just a few minutes of loud thrills, Man showing his mastery of nature and machine and speeding around like the laws…
I always get bummed out when Bonnaroo rolls around and I’m not there. Why can’t I ever seem to pony up the $200 in time to get my ass to Manchester? Luckily there are local eyes and ears there for me (and I’m constantly checking the wire at work to see what the latest is; there’s been a death already). EJ over at Loudersoft is blogging and taking pictures, and the CA has a reporter…
Lately, because of my lazy Netflix technique (adding a whole bunch of films from one genre at once), I’ve been watching a lot of foreign films. I wasn’t too crazy about On The Edge, and it may have finally cemented my creeping apathy toward Irish filmmaking in general. I really liked Fat Girl for its deeply complicated nature (I wish I’d found this film while still in college because I would have milked it for…
Taken at the Apple store using Mac Photo Booth. The Mac Genius (seriously, why do they call them that?) told me it’d be about $140 to repair the thing in-store (he figures the disk got scratched when I dropped it; he said I could get is repaired elsewhere for $70 or so), so he suggested I just trade it in, take the 10 percent discount, and buy a new Nano. And, because I have become…
I dropped my iPod again today. Aaaaaand … it broke. The scroll wheel is all jacked up. So I’ll be pleading with the Apple gods at Saddle Creek tomorrow to see what they can do. Project 365
