This is a Friday flower in every sense of the word, seeing as it did not exist until today. I honestly didn’t think I was going to get any blooms out of my hummingbird vines this year, so I’m quite smitten with this little guy.
I go out every morning and pet our vine, which twines around the corner of the fence around the patio. The cat gets this expression of confused joy on his face when his “hummies,” as La Fishmouth calls them, come to call, and I like to think he’s as happy as I am with our lovely little vine.
BTW, our vine was VERY late blooming this year, too. My great-aunt says it’s “probably the damn heat. I wouldn’t bloom either.” (She’s always right.)
Haha, your great-aunt is wise and makes me feel better about my lackluster watering this year.
I love this. Thank you.
