Another big milestone. We’re just ten weeks away, give or take, from meeting the little man.
This week he’s comparable in size to a head of cabbage. He’s slated to gain half a pound a week here on out, and he’s supposedly losing his adorable fur coat. His movements in there are so interesting. Sometimes they’ll be spastic, like a collection of shudders and shakes. Occasionally I will feel what seems initially like I have grown another pulse in an odd spot, but then I realize it’s just him hiccuping. Other times I will feel him stretch and put pressure on both sides of my stomach at once.
We’re making slow progress on the nursery, but I’ll take any progress at this point given how that room looked a month or two ago.
The crib is draped in blankets because I noticed little scratches all over the wood. Seems that my idiot cats have been using the railings for tightrope-walking practice, and not being very subtle about it. Grrrr.
I figure I need a rug (the blue checkered rug I was using in there has been cat-puked on one too many times) probably of the cream-colored variety (yes, I know it will get stained) because otherwise that room is just too dark (I had to break my own no-flash rule just to get some decent pictures). Then it’s on to the real challenge: Dressing up those walls. I’ve compiled lots of ideas, many of which would be cute and cheap if I could make them myself. So we’ll see where that goes. Oooh, I could also probably use some brighter covers for the rocker cushions. Or totally new cushions if I could get some that fit.
I gave myself an hour to write this post and you can tell from how short it is that I got distracted … a lot.
