[Be only anti]

I thought we were going to wash away this morning, or at the very least that our bedroom window was going to collapse from the force of the sideways rain. We didn’t. It didn’t. And now the sky is brilliant blue and the wind is in a hurry. I’ll try to stay out of its way.

Phil and I put the lights on the balcony last night, finally.

Brenda, this lady I work with, lended Eats, Shoots & Leaves to me the other day and I can’t put it down. I thought I was the only one who almost fainted at the sight of every misused “its,” “it’s,” “your,” “you’re” and so on. And the rampant disrespect for the proper usage of the apostraphe is apalling, don’t you agree?

I scheduled my interview in Memphis for the 16th. My gradual inch toward potential gainful employment is made a little less sweet by the realization that Phil does not want to move with me. I understand his point: moving is costly, and uprooting and relocating to a new home, job, routine, etc., is unsavory at best. But at some point, for me at least, it must be done, since I’ve chosen a career that requires shallow roots. You go where the jobs are, or you work at Dillard’s until you bore your eyes out with a plastic hanger.

Also, I have a confession to make: I am addicted to crazy electronic ambient music thanks to Internet radio. If you have access to ITunes, check out HBR1 under the “Ambient” link. Bzzzzzz.

  1. What happened to your ripoff of The Friday Five? And secondly, who’s this unknown blog post-er?

  2. 1. I canned it for now because it was a distraction from all the other stuff I need to get done.

    2. Someone with passive-aggressive tendencies and too much time on his/her hands. Not me!
