Coneflowers! Taken in the garden at the Chattanooga Choo-Choo. I’m going to write about my fabulous mini-vacation in the ‘Noog soon enough. I am having trouble finding enough hours in the day lately to do much writing at all. This, I assure you, is a good problem for me.
Zinnia grown from a bag of second- and third-generation seeds my mom kept from her own garden.
This is a lily at my mom’s house. My flowers are looking pretty puny lately, as I’ve been too preoccupied to coddle them properly. :)
Another dahlia. This is a much smaller one. It seems capable of holding itself upright.
My mom brought me a pot of these little orange flowers and they spent their first week here all wilty, as though they were exasperated and on some sort of floral fainting couch, but now they have perked up and seem to be doing fine. This is a wildflower called spiderwort. I only know that because Lesleyest is basically my internet flower dictionary.
The lilies my mom transplanted for me finally bloomed! My camera can’t seem to handle bright red! I should figure out why! And fix it!
Because the flowers get all the attention but the leaves can be sexy as hell too.
This here’s a blanket flower. I wish I had more money because if I had more money, I’d be using these things as ground cover.
