This is a Friday flower in every sense of the word, seeing as it did not exist until today. I honestly didn’t think I was going to get any blooms out of my hummingbird vines this year, so I’m quite smitten with this little guy. Bonus angle!

Friday flower No. 19

I picked up a couple of pots of really wilty, dead-looking dianthus on the clearance rack of Lowe’s a month or so ago, and am happy to say I have not killed the plants further, but have in fact coaxed a bloom, a single bloom!, out of what used to be yellowed foliage. Huzzah.

The neighbor apparently isn’t fighting her portion of the trumpet vine as insanely as I am, and this little bough dropped over the fence and started blooming quite fetchingly. Which makes me so angry, given its pissy attitude. I hate. This. Vine.
