CUTENESS ATTACK … AGAIN!

Krissi and Jeremy and Piper let me tag along with them to the Botanic Gardens again this year for a family photoshoot. We went in mid-October, which turned out to be perfect both weather-wise and scenery-wise. I don’t know how the Botanic Gardens managed not to completely burn up this summer like everyone else’s gardens, but I suspect a whole lot of chicken blood and brick dust might be involved. I’M SAYING THEY USED VOODOO…

CUTENESS ATTACK!

Wa-POW! I just hit you with a sneak attack of adorableness. Are your knees weak? You might oughta go take a pregnancy test. Yes, even you fellas. If you were unable to withstand this attack of unfiltered Daphne adorability, you might ought to steer clear for a while. I know I’ve got at least one more ULTRA-SECRET SNEAK ATTACK OF TOOTH-DECAYING SWEETNESS coming up. My friends gross me out with how adorable their offspring are.…

Sports and leisure and science and nature

When Kristin came to visit last week and we needed a way to kill a Wednesday afternoon, we ended up at Lichterman Nature Center, where I’m fairly sure I went as a kid on a field trip once. ‘Noog life

There was a point within the first ten minutes of Nick’s and my hike up Lookout Mountain Monday morning where I honest to shit thought I was going to die. This is mostly because I am dismally out of shape and unaccustomed to coaxing my body to do much more than stand, sit, and — if I’m lucky — writhe a little every day. Suddenly I was using obscure leg muscles to propel myself…

Happy trails

On my way through Lakeland a few weeks ago, I got behind the rental car I rode to Chicago in back in very late December. It really threw me to just randomly be riding in traffic behind the very same car that had been my road home for a few days. I mean, how many rental cars are on the road in Memphis at any given second? But I know that was the right car.…
