Day 89: In The Sunshine
I feel sorry for all days that were not today, because today was great. [Project 365]

These invisible tethers that keep us in each other’s lives, that keep our feet on the ground and our tongues tied — where do they come from? Who put them there? I had a dream once where I was out in a sun-flecked meadow, and suddenly the wind caught me and lifted me into the air like a kite and wouldn’t let me down. I sailed over the meadow, rising higher and higher, bound to…
The little green explosions, they’re happening. The other day I looked up and realized that the giant tree behind my apartment suddenly had little lime-colored buds on it. They hadn’t been there the night before. I got a little giddy, I confess. I am in love with spring in a way that I will never be in love with another human. [Project 365]

I was rooting for blue thanks to an opportunistic combination of civic pride and knowledge that a successful U of M organization is good for my workplace’s vitality. Saturday Matt and Kerry got hitched Memphis-style at Ernestine & Hazel’s, and I tell you what, I have never seen the place looking classier or bumping more earnestly with the hilarious dancing of mostly not-very-rhythmic folks*. Good times, good times. Zach said some really nice things at the ceremony about friends being your chosen family, and it’s just so true and so right that there’s not much to add to it. He was clearly feeling…
