I'm posting about my damn cats again

Snip-snip update

Just got a call from the vet — kudos to them, by the way, for calling with an update — that the kitties are now spayed (nine-minute surgery) and neutered (thirty-second surgery) and hopped up on kitty painkillers for recovery. I get to pick them up tomorrow after 10.

Felix, meanwhile, has the run of the place. He’s getting to eat outside the cage and sleep wherever he wants without fear of being pounced. Actually, that goes double for me. Uh, sans cage.

  1. Yay, Fixed Kittehs! (Also, Yay, Zombie Kittehs!)

    Yay, Free-Range Felix!

Yay, Lindsey, World’s Best Pet Mom!

(You know Felix is going to look at you tomorrow and go, “Oh, man. You LIED to me, Momma.”)

    Everybody rest and heal well!

  2. P.S. — Get used to

    Is full of resentment

for the next couple of days. Boykittehs seem to do that.

Girlkittehs, on the other hand will lounge about showing you their tummies. Odd. Well, maybe not. You’d do that, too, if you had an Ednaectomy (tm ‘coma).

  3. Good for you and the Kitties. Here’s to a speedy recovery and to Felix taking over the house.

  4. So did your vet give you pre-op instructions concerning their food and water, etc beforehand? Brian made Trish’s appointment and all they said to him was “Ok, we’ll see you Tuesday.” Surely it’s not that simple.

  5. I fully expect some feline pouting, but if that means they’re a bit calmer for the next few days, I’ll take it!

Jen, they told me no food after midnight the night before, and then to take their water away as soon as I got up and give them time to pee. But then when I got to the vet, they asked if they had eaten since 10 p.m. So better make it 10 instead of midnight. (I had to drop them off between 7 and 9 a.m., in case that makes a difference in the timing.)

    Good luck with Trish!
